Goro Nickel – Pulse Columns tanks

28 pulsed columns at diameter of 4 [m] and highest of 32m

Between the years 2005-2008 at the island of New Caledonia the world largest Nickel mine was built by the Goro company.

The project included building a sea port and all the facility and state of the art technology needed for the mining and extraction of Nickel. The site crew included over 6,000 personals.

BEL was chosen to manufacture 4 storage 28 pulsed columns at diameter of 4 [m] and highest of 32m. Each column has upper and lower decanters, all column parts were joint by sets of body flanges (of 4 [m] in diameter).

The flatness tolerances of those 4 [m] flanges is ± 1mm. The flanges are 100% FRP without any metal rings or inserts. BEL had designed and build unique machinery the built those columns parts..
